Founded in 2018, WEI responds to the Call to Action of the United Nations Secretary-General’s (UNSG) High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment on Sustainable Development Goal 5.

Meet the WEI Team
WEI is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of experts who understand the importance of empowering women, girls, and under-represented groups economically and focus on strengthening intersectionality and gender research to bolster the health, economic, and social wellbeing of women and girls.
We continually seek to enhance our institutional relevance, effectiveness and sustainability by partnering and collaborating with others and building capacity of other local organizations to increase our reach and impact on the ground.
