Transformational Entrepreneurship
Beyond Jobs, Toward Economic Justice
Entrepreneurship is an important driver for economic growth and human flourishing in resilient communities. However, the pathways for entrepreneurship are often restrictive. They provide limited access to opportunities and resources for women and youth in the ‘missing middle’ and constrain the economic contributions of and social benefits for marginalized communities.
What is Transformational Entrepreneurship?
Transformational entrepreneurship is purpose-driven. It combines innovation, technology, and social responsibility to create significant, long-term, and sustainable changes in society, markets, and economic systems.
It recognises that entrepreneurs operate within complex ecosystems and that inclusive, regenerative business models are critical to building viable economies and communities.
Who We Support
WEIForward targets women and youth entrepreneurs in the ‘missing middle’ to build pipelines of purpose-driven, innovative, and scalable enterprises that require access to financing, markets, and support in order to innovate, scale, and fuel economic growth and human flourishing.
Our objectives are to:
- Create pathways for women and youth to build and scale enterprises by facilitating access to networks, markets, resources, and enabling ecosystems.
- Build pipelines of scalable, viable and bankable enterprises that can compete for financing and compete in markets and value chains.
WEIForward Hybrid E‑celerator Model
The WEIForward Hybrid E‑celerator Model provides the framework for our work to support transformational entrepreneurs in the missing middle as an integral component of the GroundUp Alliance.
Women and youth in the missing middle are connected to finance, markets, networks, mentoring, training, IP protection, and business services through an integrated hybrid E‑celerator approach.
