Welcome to the WEIForward Global Institute
Reweaving social fabric in a time of poly‑crisis
The world is experiencing tectonic shifts in economic, social, and political spheres that are manifested in the poly‑crises of people, planet, and power. These dynamics are rolling back hard‑won gains, weakening multilateral systems, and reshaping how people live and work.
Demographic shifts, the concentration of global wealth, and the realignment of political alliances are producing new power blocs and intensifying structural inequities in economic and political systems. These inequities have contributed to the breakdown of the social contract, limited access to opportunities and resources, and eroded essential conditions for human flourishing.
Technological innovations are redefining the world of work and rapidly reshaping the economic, social, and planetary fabric of communities, countries, and regions.
WEIForward recognizes that the issues impacting women and youth must be addressed within the broader context of human, economic, social, environmental, and political agendas.
We are committed to working on these comprehensive issues with a particular focus on women, youth, and under‑represented groups in global majority countries, even as similar challenges persist in the global north.
WEIForward established the Global Institute to:
- Convene collaboratives of thinkers and key stakeholders
- Co-create solutions and initiatives that lead to concrete actions and impact on the ground
- Contribute to research and provide thought leadership
How the Global Institute Drives Change
Three core functions guide our work across countries, sectors, and systems.
1
Convene Collaboratives
Bringing together diverse thinkers, practitioners, and key stakeholders to build shared understanding, align agendas, and catalyse collective action.
2
Co-Create Solutions
Designing and testing solutions and initiatives that respond to local realities and produce tangible results for women, youth, and their communities.
3
Research & Thought Leadership
Generating evidence, insights, and frameworks that inform policy, shape narratives, and support systems change at national, regional, and global levels.
Current Areas of Focus
The Institute’s work is organised around interconnected domains that support inclusive, just, and resilient societies.
Reweaving the Social Fabric
Building competitive, resilient enterprises that shape inclusive economies and unlock new pathways for wealth, productivity, and dignity. We support the development of deeper pipelines of transformational women-owned and youth-owned enterprises in the ‘missing middle’.
Transformational Entrepreneurship
Contributing to pathways for social progress through institutional trust, governance, and inclusive systems change. We work to strengthen human security, development, dignity, and sustainability while tackling systemic challenges to economic empowerment.
Innovation, Technology & Jobs
Examining how innovation and technology are reshaping entrepreneurship and work in global majority countries, and what this means for opportunity, risk, and regulation.
Inclusive Entrepreneurship Education
Advancing inclusive entrepreneurship education and training that reflects diverse experiences, addresses systemic barriers, and equips learners to build resilient livelihoods.
